Intro to the Adolescence and G effect:

When you prove that you are successful then the time is great to go around the places and enjoy the times with your friends. After crossing the first barrier of my life I was happy and full of enthusiasm to explore all together a new world of subjects and Girls. The senior batch to us was again under tremendous pressure to fare good in the 12th grade examination. On the other hand it was our class which was again going to get a different set of toppers because the ball game had changed and people good in science always have the upper hand. Then there were a set of juniors who looked up to us. I was not bothered about juniors except for few, and those few were nothing but the gals who were rated at the topmost slot of being most beautiful and hot and sexy and …. I could go on. Well to be very frank I did not like the most beautiful gal of the lot, but I liked another gal she would be ranked at around 2-3 in the school. She was beautiful, fair and she had something special as she had a

The Board of Results

Talking about results they are furious nerve wrecking experiences and every time you stand in the queue and you expect the principal declaring the names of top three. I went through a lot of drama for my board results or rather I should put it that my family went through a lot of drama which was because of my board results. Usually after the board exams it was time to have fun especially during the summer vacations but there used to be an IOTA of doubt inside everybody about the results questions like “How is it gonna be, I am going to get full marks for the last question of Mathematics paper or not?”. These thoughts used to scare the hell out of me, but over all these fears were not to be shown to the external world. In the external world people were expecting lot of things from me. I passed my 10th Grade in 1998 which was beginning of dotcom boom era. Everything was getting published on to the websites which meant that we can have quick access to the information. A friend of mine an

The Impressions of dy/dx

The importance of dy/dx can never be overlooked by a student of science. A student who opts for Science stream after appearing the 10th Grade exams gets into a new world of Subjects where Scoring in PCM (Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics) can help you get a position at the top. For me it was dream come true, I thought this is what I was looking for and I am gonna give all others a tough time. I still remember the first class of 11th Science. We were excited to be a part of the brigade to which all other students looked up to. The class was good with individual chairs and flappable writing pads over it. We had some new class mates coming in from Hindi Medium of our school. A guy with specs came and sat on the chair next to me; he was very quiet and did nothing to get noticed but, he was not feeling comfortable for sure. I thought let me ask him and I said “Hi, I am Dibyendu are you from the Hindi medium”. He said “Yes I am but it’s difficult for me to understand, all the new terms in

The Board of Exams:

The exams are furious and an integral part of child’s growth as a person and it makes them tougher day by day. For me seeing people elderly to me appearing for Board Exams (Usually 10th and 12th are referred as board exams) was an experience in itself. I could remember the tense faces of parents sitting outside the school and waiting for their springs to come out of the exam hall. If anybody comes out with a smile it was a celebration and for some it was not a good day for them it was crying and mourning. The pressure used to be intense and every appearing candidate was terrified to extent that people with low level of handling of nervousness used to break down in the bus, if not bus then while entering the exam or while writing the exam itself. I was lucky in these aspects my dad never put me under any kind of pressure and mom being a professional teacher always helped. I always felt that being practical before the exam helps in terms of keeping your parents expectations at bare mini

The Gayatri Mantra and the Brahmin

When you are a kid then you are used to taking exams very seriously because if you don’t take them seriously then you loose face in the neighborhood. Wherever you go you find people staring at you as if each one of them has a Xerox copy of your report card. This feeling is even more gripping when your competitors are your dad’s colleague’s children. I still remember the bone chilling experience when my mom or my dad used to come back from office and we used to get marks for papers like Social Studies or Hindi, the two were the subjects which I was not interested in. I was thankful when I got an option after my 8th grade to leave Sanskrit as one of the subjects. I would like to tell you a small incident which made me hate Sanskrit even more, it was when I was in 8th grade the final year after which I thought I’ll get rid of this subject all my life (Although I am least entitled to say such things about Sanskrit because I am a Brahmin, I know I can see your eye brows getting curled in su

Enrichment Process of my School Life

So now my previous post told people where I am from and the backdrop of the place where I spent my childhood days. The place was amazing no doubts about that, but since every coin has two sides the other side of the coin was that I formally landed into a colony life. Well to be precise a Colony in this blog would refer to a Place where people working under the same company stay. This would be a residential area. The unique thing about a colony is that “Everybody knows everything about everybody”, When I say the previous statement it holds good for everyone. People are more interested in other person’s life and this is also discussed over dinner and lunch. There are gossips all around and every move made by the child is monitored by everyone. To have a reputation built up in such a trying condition is indeed tough. Then there’s a competition with the friends around you. For me it was that if I secure 1st Rank in my class then my dad would buy me whatever I asked for after the results.

Minutes of Meeting with my Childhood...

Details of Turamdih: As they say “AAGAR FIRDAUS BAR RUYE ZAMINAST YO HAMINAST,YO HAMINAST, YO HAMINAST” , I think this quote in my life is not valid for Jammu and Kashmir, of all the places I have seen the place where I spent my child hood is a region with the largest mineral resources which people know as Chotanagpur Plateau. My dads being a Civil Engineer had to go places which were actually no man’s land and transform them into a great residential colony with all the amenities. Why my experience stands aloof from others is because I saw the colony rising from big Hills begin transformed into plain grounds and then a beautiful place to live for the Employees. As a kid we had a gang most of us are now in a corporate mess getting things out of our clients. A place which remains closest to my heart is Turamdih. At a distance of 7 km from Tata Nagar Railway station. When we landed there in 1990 and I was surprised to see a stretch of hills and was fantasized about exploring them. Since
